I'm so excited to share this news with everyone here, and I've been hinting to it for days, but I wanted to make sure all the t's were crossed and i's dotted before I put it out there "Officially!"
Friday, May 6th, I received a second call from Universal Studios requesting the use of my quilts a second time.
They have already used them in the production of a movie coming out October 7th, called Wanderlust with Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd.
They needed them back for the photo shoot that will accompany the movie as well as for re-shoots.
So, why is it so exciting? Well, first of all - I'm being paid, and rather well I might add, as well as the photos they will be taking will be the photos in magazines ads, the billboards, and on buses.
That's why I'm so excited!
The money is awesome, but I'm taking quilting to the masses! My quilts - everywhere ads for this movie are.
It's very cool and it's feels like a big step for me and for quilting.
So, there it is.
It's hard to convey the excitement in my heart through words a week later, but I still have flutters about the opportunity this is and what it means to me. Nothing may ever come from it, but I will always be able to tell people Universal Studios used my quilts in a movie and that is pretty darned cool if you ask me.
Until tomorrow!

ReplyDeleteHow very exciting for you. I am looking forward to seeing the movie. If you are lucky, the quilts will be prominently displayed but don't expect too much. I know how things work in Hollywood. They could end up on the cutting room floor. Let's hope not.
ReplyDeleteAngela Mullis turned me onto your quilts a couple of years ago. I instantly fell in love with them and your work. And now, many others will see them and love them! Congrats on such exciting news!
