stichin'

My other baby... My sewing machine... Where I go to clear my mind and tap into my personal creative space... Thankfully, I have 2 wonderful friends who are fellow quilters that I get to enjoy simply talking fabric and thread a quilting styles and share in ideas and revel in those ideas with. Unfortunately, I don't get to do it often enough. Yesterday, I went to my good friend Terri's to do some stichin' and bitchin'. I must say, I am always so productive with Terri and Deb and it is a joy to spend time with them and just work on quilts. We share ideas, techniques, fabrics (Terri even let me take a couple of snips off some her fabrics as I was a little disorganized). I love to see what they are working on. We are all such different quilters and our styles are light years apart, but I gain so much from what they do and create that it just feeds my own creations.

This is what I am working on. It's a long time coming. I've been trying to work on this for over a year and it is finally happening (it's a barter/commission). So far, I'm pretty happy with how it is going.

Terri... quilter extraordinaire... Her piecing just blows my mind... and her dedication... she's my hero! I'm super glad we are friends and that she will share what she knows with me - I couldn't have made it this far without her.

Here's Deb working on her little piece - the squares were so small - people often say things to me about my small pieces, but they don't have to match in the corners. Another quilter extraordinaire and wonderful woman full of quilting wisdom. I learned how to do wavy borders thanks to this lady! A big step in my quilting (at least for me)!

Thanks ladies for a great day of quilting and chatting!
