past maypoles

OH! The maypole is the party I look forward to more than any other party we go to or have all year! It is the time when we are outside rejoicing in the spring weather and pollen and celebrate the greenness of everything. We weave our ribbons as we laugh and enjoy one another and put that energy out to heal all the hurt in the world that everyone can have the same love and friendships we all share. It is a beautiful thing. We started doing the maypole in 2004, but I don't have any pictures of it from the original one and as I was going through I couldn't pick just a few they are all so great! Yes, head wreaths are a part of every year and they just add to the silliness of the celebration. You can't be too serious wearing green on your head. We eat, we have a good time, and we honor and welcome the turn of the seasons and celebrate the spring and welcome the summer. So, without further ado, here is my slide show... wish I could figure out how to put music with it, it keeps stopping, so you can click on it and it will go to my web album. It's sort of long, but it's worth it I promise. If you don't want to watch it, you can go to my web album, there is a link on the left hand side of the blog.
