The Spirit of Homeopathic Medicines

As many of you know, I study homeopathy ALL the time.  There is almost always a pile of homeopathy books on my bedside table.  It is my OTHER passion.

It is our medicine of choice and more often than not, it is what we turn to whenever we are sick or having emotional issues we can't move through.

If you do not know much about it or have used it without much luck, I think you should learn more about it.  When used properly and with the right dosing it is by far the MOST effective medicine I have ever used.  Even beyond our western medicine.

I am always amazed when I get the remedy right and we see instant results.  I have treated the flu and seen my children get over being unbelievably sick in a matter of minutes.  Stomach flus are no match for the right remedy.  And bee stings... how any one has ever lived without Apis, I just don't know.

Homeopathy isn't the miracle cure and it does not keep us from growing old or from getting sick, but it certainly helps and best of all it helps our bodies do what they are naturally capable of - healing themselves.

Recently, I have been studying homeopathic constitutions.  Our constitutions are the underlying current of our bodies.  More often than not, when our constitution gets out of balance our bodies present the same symptoms over and over and we also tend to have the same emotional symptoms over and over.  We can use our constitutional remedy to help keep our bodies in balance.  Naturally, these change over time and due to life conditions. As one layer heals a deeper layer arrives.  Treating constitutions is much like peeling off the layers of an onion until you reach the center.

THIS is what fascinates me about homeopathy.  It works with us, rather than for us.

I am almost ALWAYS on the lookout for homeopathy books and when I find one that I am excited about, I HAVE to share it!

This book presents the "pictures" of the remedies in a story type manner so that you can PICTURE the issues better.  I am completely enthralled by it as it is a starting place for a much bigger perspective. I have other books on constitutions but this one helps get you started with a brief explanation to whittle it down to only one or two then you can delve deeper into the more descriptive books to really see if the picture fits the patient.  It creates a great starting point for the constitutional picture as well as the acute remedy picture!

I highly recommend this book to my fellow students of homeopathy.

The best thing to me about this book is that I bought it on a whim.  There wasn't much information about it, but it seemed like it could be another great reference to have when I am stuck and it turns out it is going to be one of my first go to books.  Don't you just love when things like that happen?

homeopathy

Photobucket
As most of you know, I am taking a course in homeopathy. I love it. It resonates with me so well. I have already put it into pretty good practice and thus far, we have had incredible results with it. When it rains, my lower back hurts, I took Rhus-T for it and after 1 dose, no more back ache. When the honey suckle started to bloom, my allergies started to bother me again, I found the remedy picture most similar to my problems and ta-dow, no more allergy symptoms at all. Kalib was severely bloated one night - he never gets indigestion, I gave him one dose of Cal-C and within 10 minutes the indigestion was gone and he was playing. Yesterday, India woke with a sore throat, we looked up her symptoms, gave her Belladona and by the afternoon no more sore throat and she was back to playing and teasing Kalib. I only had to give her one dose. I am truly amazed at how well homeopathy works. It is inspiring to me that something so small and so diluted can be as healing as it is. The weaker the dilution in homeopathy, the stronger the potency. It is amazing. It won't be long until I am offering my services to my friends and their children and I can't wait until I really feel ready for that. I think all of our lives are going to be seriously touched by my studies because I want to share the wonder of homeopathy. Thanks for all supporting me on my journey. I have always been passionate about herbalism and natural medicine, and now that I am back studying it, I feel more in touch with what makes me who I am and where my passions lie, now I've just got to find my way back to my sewing machine.

reading under the oak...

Today was a relaxing day. We didn't do much except play with Sophia and we went to Whole Foods - which suprisingly I enjoyed (alot). So many choices that we don't have. We sat outside for a while under this fantastic Oak they have in their back yard - which is just magnificent... until Sophia got sleepy. They went in and took a nap, while I sat in the shade of a large California Oak tree and got sprinkled with pollen and hung out with their cat Roscoe. Funny how the yellow pollen isn't making me just cringe. I read solid for 2 hours loving the warmth, barefoot, and uniterupted peace offered by the shade of that oak tree today. I had the opportunity to contemplate things, something I enjoy doing as I was studying the homeopathy... I have a wonderful life, with two children who not only keep me on my toes, but continually make me thirsty to learn everything I can and what I want to learn. It is amazing how information sticks with you when you are learning what you want to be learning. I love being intersted in things and how they work and the mysteries of life. I like thinking and observing my own behaivors and finding solutions to things I think I could be better at. A thirst for knowledge keeps life intriguing and exciting. There is always something more we can learn. Something we may not know we are even interested in, but how will we ever know if we don't just try things out and explore that endless thirst? I hope that is how India and Kalib feel. I also thought about my husband and how he inspires me and supports me and is always there encouraging me to try to satiate my thirst and help me push my own limits and in the name of love. (It seriously helps that he can always make me smile when I most need to. ) What a lucky wife I am. So, I am relaxed, I'm loving having the space to look inside and dig deeper, but I am also loving what I am finding there.

The pic is Shane with Sophia - who is the cutest baby - she is just WONDERFUL!!!! And talk about some fat little legs!
